Little Free Library

Little Free Libraries are “take a book, return a book” free book exchanges popularized by the nonprofit organization Little Free Library. They typically take the form of a small wooden box of books mounted on a post in front of a home or business where passersby can easily access the books. The vast majority are maintained by sponsoring community members sometimes referred to as “stewards.”

We are a proud co-sponsor of the Menlo Park Little Free Library Incentive Program. The program provided 23 little free library boxes to Menlo Park residents who were selected through an application process managed by the city library. In exchange, participating property owners pledged to keep the Little Free Library on their property, curate its book collection, and keep their little free library in good condition. YES! I want to start my own Little Free Library.

Little Free Libraries are a fun and rewarding way to promote reading and foster stronger community ties. Want to learn more? Use this form to request more information and join the mailing list.
